She gave her child double the dosage prescribed hoping to hasten his recovery, and the child died

This woman has to pay the diyah (blood money), because she was of sound mind. The kafaarah (expiation) is to free a slave, but if this is not possible then she has to fast two consecutive months. Mothers have to be very careful in such cases, and they have to follow the doctor’s instructions.
