Is it permissible for a woman to wear perfume when she is in ihram?

Praise be to Allah.

It is not permissible for the pilgrim in ihram, man or woman, to put on perfume after entering ihram, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “And do not wear any garment that has been touched by saffron or safflower.” And ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I put perfume on the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for his ihram before he entered ihram, and when he exited ihram before he circumambulated the Ka’bah. Agreed upon. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said concerning a man who died when in ihram: “Do not put any perfume on him.” Saheeh – agreed upon. 

And Allah is the Source of strength. May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions. End quote.
