The best way to learn Tajwid (proper recitation of Quran) is to read to a shaykh who is qualified in Quran recitation. If there is no such person in your city, then according to sharee’ah it is required and encouraged that you should travel in order to find such a person. If that is not possible, then the Muslim should learn from his brothers and from tapes of readers. If Allah knows that a person's intention is sincere, He will open the doors of goodness to him.
