-The Du`a for a new month reported from the Companions is: “O Allah, make this month for us a month of security, faith, safety and Islam, of protection from the Shaytan, and of attaining the good pleasure of the Most Gracious. ” -Though one narration is inauthentic, a corroborating Hadith with a sound chain supports it. Scholars agree that it is good for Muslims to recite this Du`a when a new month begins.

It is permissible to offer Du`a in other than Arabic in the prayer, especially if it is difficult for the person to learn Arabic. He may offer Du`a and ask for whatever he wishes of goodness in this world and the hereafter, and it is not stipulated he should use only words that have been narrated in reports.
