If you reach the place of the `Eid prayer while the Imam is delivering the Khutbah, you should listen to the Khutbah, then you should make up the `Eid prayer after that.

The fuqaha’ differed regarding the number of people required to do the Eid prayer. Some of them, such as the Hanbalis, stipulated that there should be forty people. Others, such as the Shaafa‘is, said that it is permissible for one who is alone to offer the Eid prayer. The view that is more likely to be correct is that the number required is three.

Scholars differed concerning the ruling on ‘Eid prayers: 1- it is a confirmed Sunnah; 2- it is a communal obligation; and 3- it is obligatory for men.

-The Takbir for `Eid Al-Fitr begins at sunset on the last day of Ramadan and continues until the `Eid prayer starts. -Reciting Takbir is a Sunnah practice encouraged for both men and women, with men reciting it aloud and women doing so quietly. -The phrases of Takbir include gratitude and exalting Allah’s greatness. -Scholars emphasize that Takbir should be recited at home, in mosques, marketplaces, and on the way to the `Eid prayer.
