The majority of scholars are of the view that the minimum time of i’tikaf is a moment while some other scholars view that the minimum time of i’tikaf is one day.

I’tikaf is Sunnah and can be observed at any time of the year but it is better to observe it in Ramadan, especially in the last ten days.

It is permissible to observe i’tikaf in the rooms which are inside the mosque and whose doors open into the mosque.

A woman has the right to observe i’tikaf in any mosque, but she does not have the right to observe i’tikaf at home.
