It is permissible for the wife to see her husband after he dies, and for her to wash him according to the correct scholarly opinion which says that either spouse may wash the other after death.

The Funeral Prayer is Fard Kifayah (communal obligation). Funeral prayer is not something that is only for men; rather it is prescribed for both men and women alike, even though in principle it is men who are expected to do it.

It is permissible for a woman to see her husband’s body after death and there is no reason why she should not. Indeed, a wife has the right to wash her dead husband.
