1- Poverty is one of the calamities that Allah has decreed should happen, either to a specific person or a family or a society. Poverty has negative effects on people’s beliefs and conduct. 2- Islam fought poverty by: 1- teaching people that provision comes from Allah and that He is the Provider, 2- seeking refuge with Allah from poverty, 3- encouragement to work and earn a living, 4- making zakah obligatory on the rich, 5- encouragement to give charity, set up waqfs and sponsor orphans and widows, 6- prohibition of riba, gambling and deceit in selling, and encouragement to help the needy and support the weak.

The bankrupt is the one who has debts that are greater than the wealth he owns. If the creditors ask the court to establish conservatorship and divide among them the wealth that the debtor has, the judge must respond to that. If any debts remain unpaid, then they are still owed by the one who is bankrupt until Allah blesses him with wealth whereupon he must repay these outstanding debts.

It is not permissible for the worker who does business with the capital in a Mudarabah project to have a fixed monthly salary; he is not entitled to anything except the share agreed upon between him and the financier.

There is nothing wrong with studying futures contracts and other financial contracts and dealings even if they are prohibited, subject to two conditions: 1. that the student should have enough Islamic knowledge to be able to distinguish between contracts that are permissible and those which are prohibited, 2- he should believe that what Allah has prohibited of such contracts is prohibited.

Deceiving the customer and telling him that the price of the item is fifty, and that the price has been reduced to thirty for a special occasion, such as `Eid for example, even though there has been no reduction at all, is clearly lying.

It is permissible for a Muslim to enter into a business partnership or work with a disbeliever or an evildoer. The Messenger of Allah gave Khaybar to the Jews to work the land and cultivate it, in return for which they would have half of its yield.
