If a woman prays alongside a man but there is a barrier between them, such as a wall, or a gap which is wide enough for a person to stand and pray there, then the prayer is valid according to the majority of scholars.

Prophetic Hadiths encourage the Muslim to strive to come to the mosque walking, not riding, even if his house is far away, so long as it does not cause hardship and he does not have an excuse such as being old and so on, and he should not accustom himself to drive to the mosque if it can be reached on foot without difficulty.
